Saint Louis Chapter #13 Montford Point Marine Association, Inc., is a nationally known 501(c) Veterans Organization.  Chapter 13 is one of thirty-six (36) chapters located across the nation.  We work closely with other veterans groups and our members are active in governmental veterans affairs at the local, state and national levels.  We actively support youth and educational programs, which include JROTC programs and high school leadership programs.  We also support scholarships to institutions of higher learning through our own scholarship foundation and through our contributions to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.  Collectively, more than $1,000,000 in scholarships have been awarded to children of servicemen and civilians.

Public awareness of the existence and accomplishments of the Montford Point Marine has not realized the level of recognition as other historically black military units, such as the Buffalo Soldiers or the Tuskegee Airmen.  However, black Marines trained at the Montford Point Camp at Camp LeJuene, NC were an intricate part of the WWII Pacific Campaign through exemplary service performed on the beaches of Saipan, Iwo Jima, Guam and Guadalcanal.  The members of this association and others across the nation are diligently working to correct this situation.  These efforts incloude a documentary video and work on a screenplay, in collaboration with Lou Gossett, Jr.

Our mission is to support and promote activities geared toward the social betterment of our communities and we sincerely hope that with your assistance, we will be able to accomplish that mission.

For the untold story of the "Chosen Few", which chronicals the long standing legacy of the dedicated black Marines called "The Montford Pointers", visit our Web Site at www.montfordpointmarines.com/
